Success For Epitomy At Cowes Week

13/08/2007

An Epitomy crewed and sponsored Lazer SB3 successfully competed at the 2007 Cowes Week, the world’s most famous sailing regatta. The boat finished the week mid-fleet out of the 90 participating boats.

‘We had great winds for most of the week, ideal for Lazer sailing,’ according to Andrew Vernon, Managing Director of Epitomy Solutions. ‘One race was cancelled due to lack of wind, but we competed in all of the other six scheduled races. For our first competitive attempt, finishing mid-fleet amongst Europe’s finest sailors was quite an achievement,’ he finished.

The Epitomy SB3 will be competing too in a winter series in Rutland Water over the season 2007/2008.

Epitomy’s marine interests aren’t just personal, but professional too. Epitomy has customised and implemented parts data management and publishing applications for both Mercury Marine and Yanmar Outboard engines. Both products are distributed and supported by E.P. Barrus, one of the UK’s leading importers and distributors.  Epitomy's SB3 has a Mercury engine on its stern for those occasions when wind and wave don't quite point  it in the right direction.
